The Dog School's Badge Program

Who is the Badge Program for?

• Dogs who have completed Key Skills or who have skipped Key Skills based on an online assessment. 

• Owners looking to do more with their dogs and train to an advanced level.  
   

What can I expect?

• Our Badge Classes are split into 3 subcategories:

  • Urban Dog:​

    • For dogs needing skills for navigating busy city life, Urban Dog Badges focus on manners, skills related to walking and navigating busy urban environments and advanced obedience around distractions.​ This track will also prepare teams to do the Canine Good Neighbour test.

  • Clever Dog

    • Clever Dog badges focus on skills that relate to sports and include our scent, rally, obedience and nose-work badges.​

  • Adventure Dog​

    • Adventure Dog badges focus on all the skills you need to have adventures with your dog. Off leash recall, focus around distractions, field-trips, settling in new environments, ignoring other dogs and people on trail and more.​ Adventure Dog also sets you up for Agility and high speed dog sports.

• Each of these streams allows you and your dog to work towards Badges that earn you rewards! 

• There is no limit to which badge classes you take or how many badges you earn. 

• For each badge that you earn, get $5 towards a class of your choice. 

• For each "Major Badge" that you earn, you'll gain a special reward.

What is Open-Enrolment?

• Open-Enrolment means Start Anytime!

• You start right away and enjoy flexible booking.

• Open-Enrolment also means that there is no wait for the next “start date.” You also do not need to stick to a weekly time slot! 

• Simply sign up and book yourself into the classes that best suit your schedule and change it as often as you need. 

• Classes may be rescheduled any time and if you need more practice in a skill, go ahead and join it again.

Who teaches the Badge Program?

Our curriculum is designed and taught by Dr. Sarah Shapiro-Ward & Katrina Per-Carruthers, experts in the field of animal training with a combined experience of 15+ years. We may also from time to time invite subject matter experts to come in and run specific badge classes for our clients.
