Services to Support You & your Dog

Where to Begin

First Time Dog Owners: Getting a new puppy or a new rescue dog can feel overwhelming! We recommend signing up for our Puppy Program (dogs under 16 weeks) or Key Skills Program (dogs over 16 weeks). Optionally, we also recommend 1-5 private coaching sessions to help with at-home behaviour and care routines for the most comprehensive support.

Experienced Dog Owners: Take our Group Classes at the level you’re at (we will help place you within our program on intake) to refresh your training skills and practice around other dogs. We also recommend taking a field-trip or two in order to really build your skills. Remember, dog trainers are always learning cool new ways to train more efficiently or more humanely—be ready to learn something new, even if you’ve raised many dogs before!

Dogs with Fear, Anxiety, Aggression or other abnormal behaviours: Start with a Behaviour Consultation. These sessions result in a tailor-made behaviour modification plan for you and your dog.

Additional Support: We all need extra support from time to time! We use our Private Coaching sessions to best effect to meet your support needs. These sessions can be online, over the phone or in-person and can be as hands-on or as hands-off as needed. Want us to take the leash while you run some errands? Or want to pick our brains via a phone conversation? Let us know what you need, and we’ll tailor this service to best meet your needs, within our ability. Private coaching is only available to those who are enrolled in group classes, or who have started with a Behaviour Consultation.

Included Support: Current clients (any service) may join us for online office hours once per week at no extra charge. These sessions are small groups (3 student slots per 30 minutes) where you can ask us any questions you have about your dog that week. Not only will you get some answers for your own questions, but you’ll learn in a group setting from other pet parents as well.

What makes training successful?

Success in dog training boils down to the following key ingredients -

  • Time

  • Quality of Training Plan

  • Management / Environment

  • Handler Skills

Understanding these factors empowers us to help you and your dog. We need to make sure that no matter your time constraints, skill level or environmental challenges—you have the right support to help your dog. Training isn’t one-size-fits all, which is why we offer a mix-n-match set of services to best support your needs.

Support for Smaller Budgets

We understand that dog training is expensive, and hiring us for additional support can add up. We want you to get the best value for your money regardless of your budget, but maintaining a high level of success for our students does require a significant commitment to training. We’ve made the following options available for those requiring additional support at a lower price point:

  • Attend our included Office Hours sessions once weekly for regular check-ins, for as long as you are enrolled in our group classes. We recommend taking advantage of these sessions fully.

  • Stretch out your classroom credits by taking classes every other week, rather than weekly, so that we can support you with regular touch-points over a longer time frame.

  • Online private coaching sessions may be broken up into multiple session at no additional cost (e.g. break 1x60 minute session into 2x30 minute sessions or 3x20 minute sessions)

  • Ask us for recommendations for further reading, we are able to provide links to appropriate articles, books, seminars etc to best support your learning at home

  • Complete Badges with your dog to earn rewards which can include (or be swapped for) additional classroom credit

  • Attend up to 3 classes as an Auditor for free (Humans only, by appointment only). Auditing after the 3 complementary classes will cost $20 per class. Auditors must be enrolled and complete the orientation class. Please note: audit spots are very limited and you may not get your first-choice time slot. Auditing is arranged via email.

We are working on developing a scholarship program, which will be available when our business is established enough to support this. Please stay tuned.
